Japanese Antique Doll Collection

These miniature porcelain dolls originate from early 20th century Japan, mostly produced between the 1920s–1950s. Influenced by German porcelain doll craftsmanship, Japanese workshops began creating small export dolls for Europe and America, many carrying the quietly iconic “Made in Japan” mark on their backs.

Their fragile bodies still preserve traces of age — faded paint, hand repairs, and gentle oxidation gathered through decades of existence. Once travelling across oceans as export goods, many were later treasured inside family cabinets and sewing rooms. Rediscovered today, they remain like small fragments of a quieter forgotten era.
